PRECISION DOWN TO EVERY DETAIL - MADE IN GERMANY
Are the HERA IRS forends compatible with each other?
Yes, all forends of a caliber class (556 and 762) are compatible with each other and can be exchanged at will without having to change the barrel nut.
What tools do I need for assembly?
If the handguard is being mounted on an existing HERA base weapon, you only need two Allen keys to loosen the clamping screws and a locking screw. When mounting on other AR15-style weapons, you will also need to replace the barrel retaining nut. This is included with every IRS system and is factory-installed.
What material is the hand protection made of?
The IRS handguard system consists of an extruded blank that is then CNC-milled. This blank then undergoes various surface treatment steps, culminating in the anodizing of the system. The barrel retaining nut is made of 42CmRo4.
Is the hand protection system free-swinging?
Yes, our IRS system is designed to not touch the barrel at any point after the barrel retaining nut. This allows the barrel to oscillate freely and without interference during firing, ensuring the greatest possible accuracy.
Do the clamp screws need to be secured?
No, this is not necessary for civilian use. For official use, we recommend Loctite 243 with a "Medium" holding power.
Can the hand protection system be installed by yourself?
Yes, provided you have the technical knowledge, you can install the handguard system yourself. However, we require that the safety function be checked by a qualified and knowledgeable person (e.g., a gunsmith), especially if the barrel retaining nut has been reinstalled.
